Amit Butail brings over 20 years of hands-on experience in training, coaching, and building Centres of Excellence across Cyber & Cloud Security, AI/ML, Emerging Technology, Data Analytics, DevOps, Systems Engineering, and Project & Portfolio Management. He currently serves as Vice President, Technology Risk and Control at Wells Fargo, where he leads the organisation’s AI risk management strategy and drives control-based testing programmes to mitigate information, cyber, and technology risk. Alongside his industry role, he is an Adjunct Faculty member at the University of San Diego and Southern New Hampshire University, delivering courses at Master’s, Graduate, and Undergraduate levels across Cybersecurity, AI/ML, Data Analytics, Cloud, Systems Engineering, and DevOps. He is also pursuing a PhD in Cybersecurity and AI.
Amit holds an extensive portfolio of industry certifications, including CISM, CISA, CGEIT, CRISC, an Accredited SAFe Trainer credential, and a Certified DASA DevOps Coach designation. His contributions to the field have been widely recognised as he received the Indian Achievers Award 2024 from the Government of India for his voluntary contribution to the National Skill Development Program, the Security Transformation Leader of the Year Award at CISO Conclave 2023, and was felicitated by ISACA with 1st Rank and a Gold Medal in the CGEIT and CRISC certification exams. He is a core member of the ISACA CRISC and Cybersecurity Development Working Group, a recognised Zero Trust Expert Reviewer with the Cloud Security Alliance, and has published a whitepaper on DevSecOps collaboration and a research paper mapping the Cloud Control Matrix to PCI DSS controls.
